Matar's Birthday!!!

Its matar's 3rd birthday and we are making cake for her party
in it: 90% dark chocolate, raw cacao, agave, eggs and ....
sprouted garbanzo beans. Yes, you read right, hummus!!!

getting it ready to go in the oven. Hard to believe but when it comes out it will be a delicious chocolate cake

and a cheese cake

Since its Shavout, we also made a cheese cake (and blinches but they are not in the picture)

Decorating the cheese cake

Matar chose pink icing so mixing strawberries with whipped cream and a little bit of honey made the perfect icing
final touches and a taste of course

The cakes

all ready!

Let the party begin

the snack table

who said birthday snacks cant be yummy, appropriate for Shavuot, and healthy all at the same time?

sprouted corn organic goat cheese casadillas, whole wheat blinches with goat cream cheese and agave stuffing, fruits, veggies, and home made blueberry and honey sauce. YUMMY!

cake time

 singing happy birthday
and blowing out the candles (with a little help from Ophek)

and time to eat it!
Matar loved her cakes

and so did all her friends
For this birthday we asked everyone to bring a gift Matar could share and the kids could play with together at the party. Bahiya brought a pack of play-dough

This was so great as the kids played until it was time to go home, shared really nicely, and had lots of fun!

Making Meringue Cookies

During Ophek and Mommy time we made some Meringue cookies...

and ready...delicious

Ophek's creations

Ophek decided to use the toilet roles to make exciting new toys for her rats
Ophek placing the new toy in the cage. Now we just have to see if the rats like it
Yes, the rats LOVE it! We put food in there and it kept them busy for hours

A solar eclipse

The other day there was a solar eclipse and we drove out to Wupatki NM to watch it. It was an amazing afternoon!
 Picnic on the mountain

Hanging out waiting for the eclipse
and looking down on all the people who didnt want to take the time and hike up. The view from up here was so worth it!

and watching the eclipse

It was BEAUTIFUL!!!

It was hard to get shots of the actual eclipse but we were able to get a beautiful one of the sun and the Peaks as the sky got dark
as the sun set we walked down the mountain, heading home
